Promoting a Safer Church
Jesus often acknowledged, rescued and built up damaged and broken people in his ministry. Some were outcasts, some had suffered trauma, often in hidden ways. If Jesus did this, then we should do it too in our own community.
Safeguarding children, vulnerable adults, and each other is at the heart of a healthy church. Effective training and safeguarding procedures facilitate and enable a vibrant community - one which provides the room for creative and fun environments.
In essence, at TUFC, safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, overseen by key individuals. We work hard to ensure we operate in line with current best practice, as recommended by the Baptist Union.
If you are concerned that someone you know is at risk of, or is being abused, or presents a risk to others, please seek advice from a Church Safeguarding Officer. If necessary, report the matter to the Local Authority Social Care Services or the Police without delay.
