YOUNG PEOPLE

At Totnes United Free there are a number of ways 11-18 year olds can engage with us and get involved. With midweek groups and Sunday gatherings, we offer social spaces as well as spaces for our young people to learn and grow in their faith.

Our Youth Team is passionate about encouraging and empowering young people.  We are also an outward- looking team who love to get involved in our community; support local schools; and work closely with  Kingsbridge Youth for Christ and local churches.

CONNECT

Our midweek Youth Club runs on Thursday from 7-8:30pm for 11-13 year olds. In the autumn term, we play lots of games and take the young people on trips to the cinema, bowling, laser quest etc. In the spring term, we spend more time in the church building hanging out and playing games. We’ll often include a faith slot, an opportunity to explore and deepen faith. In the summer term, we aim to get outside as much as possible with trips to the beach and Dartmoor, playing games on Longmarsh plus day trips to outdoor adventure parks in South Devon.

Yes definitely, we love welcoming young people from all backgrounds and all beliefs. We believe the church should be inclusive not exclusive. All young people must have a consent form filled out (one for each child) before coming - or pick one up on the door. All personal information is confidential and kept under lock and key and is destroyed if the young person no longer attends the group.

Email our Youth Worker, Becky at youth@totnesuitedfree.org.uk. She will request a face-to-face meeting with the parents and young person to talk about what is offered and if referral to an expert is needed. You will also need to sign a consent form which will be given to you at the meeting.

We take safeguarding very seriously at TUFC. Our policy is based on the Baptist Union guidelines on safeguarding. Please see Baptist union safeguarding policy below. We also have a safeguarding team who you can contact if you have any concerns: safeguarding@totnesunitedfree.org.uk Or call on: 07874 694254

Email Becky at youth@totnesunitedfree.org.uk or just turn up and introduce yourself.

We are very aware that everyone’s circumstances are different. As a church, we want to be as inclusive as where possible and will look at each individual to see where their needs can be best met.
